OBEY X KEITH HARING

This year Obey has teamed up with the Keith Haring Foundation for a collection that is truly near and dear to this brand. For those of you who don’t know, Keith Haring‘s work began in the 1980′s and gained popularity in 1986. He is the man responsible for New York City’s ‘Pop Shop’ on Lafayette Street where he sold his merchandize- everything from skateboards to Swatch watches to t-shirts all baring his signature style. He had a populist approach and wished to bring his work to collectors and street kids alike. For those of you who were lucky enough to check out our National Gallery’s Pop Exhibit you would have had the pleasure of experiencing a first hand recreation of Keith Haring’s NYC Pop Shop. Check out the pictures below from a visit Obey had at the studio where Keith made it all happen. They were lucky enough to sift through some of Keith’s personal artifacts, from old Christmas photographs with Warhol to the shoes Haring wore daily.

We’re jealous.
