K2 Snowboards // 2012-2013 Sneak Preview

Yesterday Sarah and I braved some wicked winter weather to get to the K2 show room in Montreal to check out all the goods for the 2012-2013 season. Despite the blizzard and the slippery roads, we got there and were super stoked on what we saw. I can't spill all the details but I can certainly say that K2 keeps pushing the envelope with the technology that goes into that plank beneath your feet. Expect to see more progression on their rocker base shapes and some new additions to their already outstanding line-up of snowboards. For the ladies, K2 has completely revamped their board shapes and core technology to be even more female rider friendly.

As for their boot and binding line-up, K2 threw some D's on them. Riders can expect getting in and out of both boots and bindings to be even easier with some smart new upgrades. Expect to see a kick-ass eyewear line from K2 that we will have in Slaysh next winter, too. All in all, Sarah and I were both extremely impressed and stoked on the new gear for next winter. K2 just keeps out doing themselves.

Andy Marr in the Charlatan

I (Andy Marr) recently had an article written about me in the Carleton student news paper, The Charlatan.  The article highlighted what it's like riding for Slaysh and being a Student. Check out the article by Jessica Huynh HERE.

Dusting off the Rust

After winning Dust of the Rust Rail Jam for the third straight year, Alastair decided to bring his skills to the streets and this is what he captured so far (Alastair's part starts at 0:48).

Quincy Heads to Youth Olympics

We want to wish Quincy the best of luck in the women's Half Pipe and Slope-Style categories for this year's Youth Olympics in Austria.

The Ottawa Citizen is also showing some love for Quincy in today's paper. Martin Cleary of the Ottawa Citizen reports:

"Bucking the family ski tradition has worked out just fine for Quincy Korte-King. The Ottawa snowboarder will compete in her age-group Winter Olympics in Innsbruck."
